Incumbent Worker Training

Incumbent Worker Training (IWT) may be offered to employers who, after an assessment, are determined to need training for existing employees to remain competitive or to avert a potential layoff. Classroom or work-based learning may be provided through an education provider of the employer’s choice.

  • The maximum per fiscal year July 1-June 30 is $25,000 per company and the maximum amount per employee is $5,000
  • No more than three training opportunity requests per application
  • Only private and private non-profit companies are eligible for IWT Grant funds
