WWP was awarded $299,999 in response to a competitive HOWTO grant proposal administered under the direction of the Oregon Health Policy Board in partnership with the Oregon Health Authority and Oregon Health & Sciences University.

This grant funding will enable WWP to hire a Health Care Sector Manager and to create and manage the Mid-Willamette Behavioral Health Consortia (MWBHC). The funding will also be used to provide stipends for business members joining this effort. The MWBHC will increase access to and retention of behavioral health workers in the Mid-Willamette Valley, with a specific focus on positions with the highest turnover.

Ami Maceira, WWP’s Program Director, wrote this exceptional proposal and will manage the program. According to Ami, “This funding will directly advance anti-racism, diversity, and inclusion since the primary members of the consortia will be employers who hire health workers who serve low-income, BIPOC and OHP members.”

This innovative, transformative and community-based training initiative will begin in July of 2022. If you are interested in serving in this position, or know someone who might be, see the Health Care Sector Manager position announcement listed below.
