Willamette Care Connects (MVBHC) Updates & Workgroup Notes
June 21, 2024
Wow, what a week! It was great to see so many in attendance at the two work groups that met this week. Please find the notes attached in case you missed the meetings.
Bright Spots:
Thank you Alicia Cowthorp RN and Nicole Pries of Northwest Human Services for their incredible deep dive into recruiting diverse providers for our region. If you missed the presentation, please check out the notes. Follow up conversation shed light that another barrier to recruiting is the higher cost of housing in Oregon compared to other states. Thank you Pacific Source for supporting their work by awarding the Community Health Excellence Grant in 2022.
New Member Spotlight: Stacie McGraw, Flying Squirrel Counseling
Join me in extending a warm welcome to the newest member of the consortium, Stacie McGraw. Stacie is a Licensed Professional Counselor with years of experience with children, families, and school counseling. She is excited to build her private practice and continue serving families and youth in the region. Please note, the Roster is attached with updates.
WWP Behavioral Health Training Grant Deadline: July 1
If you need financial assistance in upskilling or training staff, please consider the training grant opportunity. Several members have begun the application process, which is easiest to complete if you have identified the trainings and cost of training you desire for staff. If you have questions with the link, or assistance please let me know.
Up Next: July 17th General Consortium Meeting
Please join us in person or hybrid if desired for our bimonthly meeting next month form 8:30am-10:00am. If you’d not RSVP’d, please do. We’d love to see you in person but zoom will be an option if needed. The meeting will feature a unique presentation from PSU on their new simulation training option that is being integrated into the School of Social Work undergraduate experience.
